Job summary

Alpha Linehaul is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee vehicle buying, leasing and lifecycle management from Kemps Creek, NSW. The role requires coordinating purchases, leases, disposals and ongoing fleet maintenance.

The successful candidate will manage records, monitor running costs and liaise with dealers and rental providers while ensuring compliance with vehicle regulations and NHVAS standards. This is a full-time permanent position offering strong superannuation.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of paid work experience as a Fleet Manager or in a similar fleet role, including vehicle purchasing, leasing or disposal.
• Knowledge of vehicle lease and rental agreements, heavy vehicle registration and roadworthiness requirements.
• Experience with fleet management or telematics systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Determine the company’s vehicle requirements, including prime movers, trailers and light vehicles.
• Source and negotiate purchase or lease of vehicles with dealers and leasing providers.
• Coordinate sale or disposal of ageing or under-used vehicles.

About the Business

Alpha Linehaul Pty Ltd is a transport and logistics company that runs nationwide linehaul services from its depot in Kemps Creek, in Western Sydney's industrial and logistics hub. The company carries ambient and refrigerated freight for clients in the industrial, manufacturing, electronics and energy sectors, and holds NHVAS accreditation. The business runs a fleet of heavy vehicles, prime movers, refrigerated and ambient trailers, and light vehicles, and relies on that fleet being well managed, compliant and cost-effective.

We are looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to manage the buying, selling and leasing of the company's vehicles and look after the fleet throughout its lifecycle.

Position Details

• Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 per annum + 12% Superannuation

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Determine the company's vehicle requirements, including the number and type of prime movers, trailers and light vehicles needed.
• Source and negotiate the purchase or lease of vehicles with dealers, leasing companies and rental providers.
• Coordinate the sale or disposal of ageing, under-used or uneconomical vehicles.
• Manage the company's fleet of vehicles, making sure they are properly maintained, serviced and roadworthy.
  Monitor and control vehicle use and running costs, including fuel, maintenance, registration, and lease and rental charges.
• Provide advice and guidance to management, rental agencies and leasing companies on vehicle selection and acquisition.
• Manage and maintain records of vehicle transactions, including purchases, sales, lease and rental agreements, and the fleet asset register.
• Research the market to identify trends in the vehicle rental and leasing industry, including rates, pricing and new vehicle options.

Minimum Requirements

• AQF Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Fleet Management, Logistics, Business or a related field (or an equivalent overseas qualification)
• At least 1 year of paid work experience as a Fleet Manager or in a similar fleet role, including vehicle purchasing, leasing, rental or disposal
• Knowledge of vehicle lease and rental agreements, heavy vehicle registration and roadworthiness requirements
• Experience with fleet management or telematics systems and Microsoft Excel
• Strong negotiation, analytical and record-keeping skills
• Current Australian driver licence
