Job summary

Chandler Macleod is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters for fixed plant maintenance opportunities with Rio Tinto in Gladstone, primarily at Boyne Smelters Limited (BSL), with opportunities at Yarwun also available. This role is based in Gladstone or surrounding areas and suits qualified fitters with proven heavy industrial maintenance experience.

You will perform breakdown, preventative maintenance and fault finding on fixed plant equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, valves, motors

Qualifications

• Cert III in Mechanical Fitting / Fitter & Turner is mandatory.
• Current C Class Driver Licence is mandatory.
• Right to work in Australia.
• Current and relevant fixed plant / heavy industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
• Experience with breakdown, preventative maintenance and fault finding.
• Be based in Gladstone or surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Breakdown maintenance and fault finding on fixed plant equipment.
• Preventative and planned maintenance on heavy industrial machinery.
• Mechanical repairs and servicing of fixed plant components.
• Work on pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, valves, motors and related fixed plant.
• Work safely within a heavy industrial environment.
