Job summary
Rio Tinto is recruiting for an Electrical & Instrumentation Fitter to join the Services & Scrubbing team at Boyne Smelters, near Gladstone. The role involves keeping electrical and instrumentation systems running safely and reliably to support production and environmental performance.
This permanent position offers a competitive salary, annual incentives, and a broad benefits package. You will work on a 9-day roster and be part of a team that prioritises safety and wellbeing.
Qualifications
- Australian A-grade Electrical licence required.
- Cert 3 Instrumentation Certificate.
- Experience with instrumentation, motors, VSDs and MCC fault-finding.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, calibrate, repair and service fixed plant electrical assets including conveyors, scrubbers and instrumentation.
- Maintain and replace electrical equipment across plant areas.
- Execute planned and unplanned breakdown maintenance.
- Calibrate and service process instrumentation measuring conditions.
- Work with PLCs, instrumentation, motor drives and MCC control systems.
- Promote safety and performance improvements; operate at heights.
