Job summary

D.N.K Services Pty Ltd in Victoria is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter/Tech to join our team. This is a full-time permanent role working on critical machinery and equipment within the food manufacturing sector.

You will perform scheduled maintenance, diagnose faults, overhaul components such as gearboxes and vacuum pumps, and collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime. A company vehicle and uniform are supplied, with ongoing training and wellbeing benefits.

Qualifications

• Formal trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent.
• 3–5 years' experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally in food manufacturing or processing.
• Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve equipment issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with production teams.
• Commitment to working safely and proactive approach to continuous improvement; documentation of work activities.

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing essential production assets to support our client's operations.

Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical faults, and implement effective repair solutions

Overhaul and rebuild components as required, gearboxes and vacuum pumps

Liaise with production teams to understand equipment requirements and minimize downtime

Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment performance

Comply with all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures

Machining parts for machines

A company vehicle and uniform will be supplied

What we're looking for

Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally within a food manufacturing or processing environment
