Job summary

Randstad is seeking a trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter for ongoing work located in Brooklyn, VIC. Offers Day, Afternoon, and Night shifts, including a Thursday-Monday weekend pattern. Emphasis on safe, preventative maintenance and rapid breakdown response.

Role involves reading drawings, installations, and shutdown projects with a major national essential business, providing ongoing job security and varied shifts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years post-trade experience in industrial environments.
• Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• White Card (Construction Induction) and a strong commitment to safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Execute preventative mechanical maintenance and respond promptly to operational breakdown calls.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Assist with machinery installations, modifications, fabrication, and shutdown projects.
• Complete safety checks (TAKE 5) and adhere to lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and machinery documentation.

Maintenance Fitter - The Role

• Execute preventative mechanical maintenance and respond promptly to operational breakdown calls.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

What You Need

• Trade Qualification: Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner, or Cert III in Engineering equivalent.

• Experience: 2+ years post-trade experience, ideally in food manufacturing, processing, or fast-paced industrial environments.

• Technical Ability: Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical systems and ability to work with work planning/scheduling.

• Safety Focus: White Card (Construction Induction) and a strong commitment to safe work practices.
