Job summary

Momentum Consulting is seeking a proactive Maintenance Fitter for a premium FMCG manufacturer in Sydney. You will maintain and optimise plant equipment to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency in a fast-paced food manufacturing setting.

Key responsibilities include preventative and breakdown maintenance on production lines, fault finding on conveyors and packaging machinery, and contributing to continuous improvement while upholding strict safety and hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter with Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical.
• Experience in FMCG/food manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to work independently on afternoon shift.
• Safety-focused with commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance across production lines.
• Fault finding and troubleshooting mechanical equipment.
• Work on conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, motors and packaging machinery.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives.

Our client is a premium FMCG manufacturer producing high-quality mayonnaise, dressings, relishes, sauces and desserts from their Marrickville and Revesby facilities in Sydney. For over 30 years, they've partnered with professional chefs across Australia and now New Zealand delivering small-batch products made from authentic recipes and the finest Australian ingredients, designed to taste scratch-made without compromising on quality.

About the Role

Working within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, you'll be responsible for maintaining and optimising plant equipment to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preventative and breakdown maintenance across production lines
• Fault finding and troubleshooting mechanical equipment
• Working on conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, motors and packaging machinery
• Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives

About You

You are a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter (Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical or equivalent) You enjoy hands-on work, thrive on solving mechanical challenges, and take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship. With a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement, you are motivated by keeping equipment running efficiently and contributing to a productive maintenance team.

You will bring:

• Previous experience in FMCG, food, or high-speed manufacturing environments preferred
• Strong mechanical fault-finding capability
• Ability to work independently on afternoon shift
• Reliable, safety-focused and team-oriented
