Coates Hire in Queensland is seeking a Field Service Mechanic based at the Chinchilla branch to repair and service hire equipment on customer sites. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, and ensure parts are stocked for on-site repairs.

The role offers attractive hourly rates with penalty rates for overtime, permanent full-time status, Mon to Fri 7am starts, and opportunities for training and progression within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications required for field service mechanics.
• Experience with petrol/diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics and basic electrical skills.
• Forklift and Elevated Work Platform tickets are beneficial.

Responsabilités

• Perform preventative maintenance, service and repair on Coates hire equipment on customer sites.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across large equipment including earthmoving gear, generators and boom lifts.
• Manage stock levels of spare parts to support on-site repairs.

Based out of our Chinchilla branch and servicing the region, Coates Field Service Mechanics take responsibility for repair of Coates hire equipment and machinery on customer sites. Duties include:

• Safe, effective and efficient preventative maintenance, service and overhaul as required.
• Deliver a level of trust and commitment to our customers that Coates is the right supplier for the project
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across a variety of equipment on site – work on large earthmoving, generators, lighting plants and boom lifts.
• Ensure stock levels of spare parts are available to undertake any repair on site.

What you’ll bring to the role

• Relevant Trade qualifications
• Experience with petrol and diesel motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical skills
• Drivers licence (preferably MR or HR)
• Forklift and EWP tickets (beneficial)
• Effective time management and attention to detail
• Troubleshooting, diagnostic and preventative maintenance skills
