Job summary

DSC Personnel is seeking an experienced Fitter Machinist for a metal spinning and manufacturing company based in Minto. This hands‑on role requires skilled machining, tooling and mechanical maintenance to support production.

You will operate manual and CNC lathes, set up machinery, and perform maintenance across a range of equipment. The successful candidate will have a trade qualification as a Fitter Machinist or equivalent, with strong experience on manual lathes and tooling, and a proven

• Trade qualification as Fitter Machinist or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience with manual lathes.
• CNC lathe experience highly desirable.Experience making and repairing tooling.
• Strong mechanical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to complete machinery set‑ups and adjustments.
• Maintenance experience across various machinery.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual and CNC lathes to produce and repair parts.
• Make, modify and repair tooling for production.
• Set up machinery for production runs and adjustments.
• Perform mechanical maintenance across a range of manufacturing equipment.
• Fault find and repair issues on machinery.
• Read and work from drawings and specifications.

This is a hands‑on role suited to a skilled tradesperson with strong machining, tooling and mechanical maintenance experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating manual and CNC lathes
• Making, modifying and repairing tooling
• Setting up machinery for production
• Mechanical maintenance across a range of manufacturing machinery
• Fault finding and repairs
• Reading and working from drawings and specifications
• Supporting production with tooling and machinery requirementsli>
• General fitting, machining and workshop duties

To be Successful

• Trade qualification as a Fitter Machinist or equivalent experience
• Strong experience with manual lathes
• CNC lathe experience highly desirable
• Experience making and repairing tooling
• Strong mechanical and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to complete machinery set‑ups and adjustments
• Maintenance experience across various machinery
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Manufacturing or metalworking experience preferred
