Job summary

Denton Engineering & Hydraulics in Thornton, NSW, is offering an Engineering Apprentice (Fitter Machinist) position. The successful applicant will undertake a Fitter Machinist Apprenticeship and complete a Certificate III Mechanical Engineering – Mechanical Trade.

You'll gain hands-on experience stripping, repairing and testing hydraulic cylinders, do manual and CNC machining, welding, coatings, sandblasting, painting, and handle stores and logistics while learning in a supportive team

Qualifications

• A genuine desire to become a qualified engineering tradesperson.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Self-motivation with a positive work ethic.
• Commitment to on and off the job training.
• Willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
• Strong commitment to Safety.
• Driver licence and a reliable vehicle would be preferred.

• Stripping, assessing, repairing, assembling and testing hydraulic cylinders.
• Manual Machining and CNC machine operations.
• Thermal spray coatings.
• Stick and Mig welding.
• Sandblasting and painting.
