Job summary

Sulzer in Maitland, Australia, is seeking a Pump Fitter to join our service centre team. You will perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on pumps, following established procedures and working under supervision where needed.

This role offers training, site allowances for field work, and opportunities to contribute to safe, reliable pumping solutions for customers. Visa support is not provided.

Qualifications

• Trade Certificate III Mechanical Fitter or equivalent.
• Secondary School - Year 10 completion.
• Interest or experience with rotating equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Strip and survey pumping equipment, identify parts and condition.
• Apply fault finding methods for pumps per QA procedures.
• Perform pressure tests to verify pump functionality.
• Read job cards to assess status, authorisations and problems.
• Rebuild pumping equipment to applicable pump standards.
• Support training and development within the team.
• Deliver customer-focused, flexible service.

About the role

Job Summary The Machinery Mechanic is responsible for performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on industrial machinery to ensure smooth and safe operations. This role supports the maintenance team by identifying mechanical issues and assisting in equipment upkeep. This job profile is intended for support staff that follows established procedures and works under close supervision. Smaller/easier decisions are made autonomously. We are looking for a Pump Fitter to join our Maitland Service Centre team in Australia.

Please note, no visa or work permit support can be provided for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Stripping and survey pumping equipment noting parts identification, configuration and condition in
• Employ fault finding methodology for pumps repair accordance with QA procedures
• Carrying out pressure testing of pumps to ensure functioning correctly
• Reading and checking job cards to determine job status, work authorizations / limitations, estimate, description of problems, and /or expected serviceability
• Rebuild pumping equipment in accordance with applicable pump standards
• Support and encourage personnel development through organized training regimes
• Provide service delivery that is customer focused, flexible and adaptable
