Job summary

Skilled Jobs Australia in Moomba, South Australia is seeking a full‑time Diesel Fitter to join a well‑established team. You will diagnose, repair, fit and overhaul diesel engines and plant equipment, with emphasis on heavy vehicles and hydraulic systems.

The ideal candidate holds AQF Certificate III in Fitter or AQF Certificate IV, can work unsupervised, and has strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across auto-electrical domains. Excellent salary package + Super.

Qualifications

• AQF Certificate III in Fitter (general) with ≥2 years experience, or AQF Certificate IV.
• Ability to work unsupervised and follow brand specifications.
• Proven experience in auto electrical fault repair and diagnostic skills.
• Sound fault finding and fast breakdown response.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, fit and overhaul diesel engines and plant equipment.
• Maintain and repair hydraulic components of diesel attachments.
• Dismantle and reassemble engines and transmissions.
• Weld with oxy, TIG and MIG to fabricate/repair parts.
• Test fuel injection systems and diagnose faults.
• Inspect vehicles for faults using specialized tools.
• Follow workplace OHS protocols.

Our Client, a well established Truck and a commercial vehicles located in the Moomba Region, South Australia provides high quality service. Currently they are looking for skilled and experienced full time Diesel Fitter to join their dynamic team. You must have experience working in automotive industry, involve with all aspects of Fitting with formal qualification in automotive field. The workshop is clean and tidy with excellent facilities.

Your role will include the following duties;

• Diagnosing, repairing, fitting and overhauling diesel engines and plant equipment
• Maintaining, diagnosing, repairing and fitting hydraulic components of diesel attachments such as pumps and injectors.
• Dismantling, repairing and reassembling engines, transmissions, steering colts and other components.
• Using oxy, electric, TIG and MIG welding techniques to fit, replace, assemble, and repair metal parts including fabrication of parts, machinery and other equipment.
• Diagnosing and repairing heavy vehicle fuel injections systems.
• Testing repaired parts for proper performance.
• Testing and repairing basic electrical circuits.
• Using computers and specialized tools to diagnose and repair faults.
• Inspecting vehicles and machinery for faults.
• Following workplace Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) protocols.

To secure this position it is essential that you;

• Hold AQF Certificate III in Fitter (general) including at least two years of work experience or AQF Certificate IV
• Ability to work unsupervised and following brand specifications
• Ability to troubleshoot and work proactively as part of a team
• Proven experience in repair of all auto electrical faults and diagnostic skills
• Sound experience in fault finding and fast breakdown response

Your creativity and specialized skills in automotive work on heavy vehicles is highly regarded.

Excellent salary package + Super (Between $ 75,000 to $ 95,000)
