Job summary

Maxwell Recruitment and Training is offering multiple opportunities for Trade Qualified Maintenance Fitters across Newcastle and the Hunter, with site-based and workshop roles in heavy industry, manufacturing, recycling and engineering environments.

Responsibilities include scheduled maintenance, fault-finding on fixed plant, and reading mechanical drawings. Candidates should have an Australian-recognised Mechanical Fitter trade qualification and strong safety commitment.

Qualifications

• Australian-recognised Mechanical Fitter trade qualification is required.
• Experience in heavy industry, mining, manufacturing, recycling or similar environments preferred.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance skills.

Responsibilities

• Scheduled, preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance.
• Fault finding and repairs on fixed plant and industrial equipment.
• Maintenance of conveyors, crushers, pumps, gearboxes and hydraulic systems.
• Equipment rebuilds, overhauls and component change-outs.
• Breakdown maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings.
• Supporting shutdown and major maintenance activities.
• Completing maintenance documentation and following site procedures.

About the Roles

Depending on the position, you may be responsible for:

What We're Looking For

• Australian-recognised Mechanical Fitter trade qualification
• Previous experience within heavy industry, mining, manufacturing, recycling or similar environments
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance skills
• Commitment to workplace safety
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
• Reliable attitude and strong work ethic
• Current Driver's Licence
