Job summary

Komatsu Australia is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our Queensland mining operations team. You will carry out maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on heavy mobile mining equipment, using OEM specifications and technical manuals to deliver quality workmanship.

Based in Blackwater, you’ll operate on a 7:7 roster with 12.5 hour shifts, collaborating with technicians and operations to minimise downtime while upholding safety standards and continuous learning in a supportive

Qualifications

• Relevant heavy diesel or mobile plant mechanical trade qualifications.
• Experience maintaining and repairing heavy mobile mining equipment.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, service manuals and equipment specifications.
• A proactive approach to safety, teamwork and problem-solving.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and troubleshooting mechanical and equipment-related faults.
• Supporting planned maintenance and equipment reliability activities.

Komatsu Australia is looking for a skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our Queensland mining operations team.

This is an opportunity to put your technical skills to work across heavy mobile mining equipment, while being part of a supportive team that values safety, quality workmanship and continuous learning.

What You'll Be Doing

• Carrying out maintenance, inspections, diagnostics and repairs on Komatsu mining equipment.

Role Located: Blackwater Region, QLD

Roster: 7:7 day/night, 12.5 hour shifts.

What We Are Looking For

• Relevant heavy diesel or mobile plant mechanical trade qualifications.
• Experience maintaining and repairing heavy mobile mining equipment.

Highly regarded:

• Experience with Komatsu 930E haul trucks, WA1200 loaders or large excavators.
• Previous OEM training or experience.
• Queensland coal mining qualifications, including Standard 11.

Candidates must be able to meet applicable Queensland coal mining medical and induction requirements.
