Job summary

Argo Natural Resources in Queensland's Bowen Basin invites applications for a First Response Officer to support Ironbark No.1. You will provide primary first aid, triage injuries, and support emergency/incident management for on-site personnel.

Requirements include a Class A Driver's Licence and nurse/paramedic experience in emergency environments, with familiarity with site access systems. FIFO/DIDO options with camp accommodation are offered on a 7 on/7 off roster.

Qualifications

• Experience with site access systems and training databases is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and triage injuries, determining if further medical treatment is needed.
• Notify the Control Room Operator and coordinate emergency services when required.
• Transport injured personnel to medical facilities as needed.
• Ensure coverage of the first aid room and send injury notifications promptly.
• Maintain and manage site medical plans, treatment records, and first aid supplies.
• Conduct drug and alcohol testing and assist with health testing and education.
• Support emergency response, guide incident investigations, and provide initial mental health support.
• Assist with compliance, training, and health exposure monitoring on site.

From revitalising Carborough Downs underground mine to reinvigorating the Broadlea open cut, our next major milestone is the Ironbark No.1 project - Australia’s newest longwall mine, featuring both longwall and bord and pillar operations.

We are seeking a dedicated and experiencedFirst Response Officer (First Responder)to join our team at Ironbark No 1. This crucial role involves providing support to all personnel in relation to illnesses, rehabilitation, emergency and incident management, and health controls. In addition, the role requires responsibility for managing first aid equipment and supplies.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

Provide first aid and triage injuries, determining if further medical treatment is needed.

About You

Experience working in the resources industry (preferred but not essential).

Previous experience in an underground coal mine environment is highly desirable but not essential.
