Job summary

Charles Sturt University is seeking an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Events and Communications Officer, First Nations, to create culturally safe experiences for students, staff, and communities. You will lead events across multiple campuses and support communications activities that showcase First Nations programs and impact.

The role requires regular travel, and some after-hours or weekend work, within the First Nations Student Connect team.

Qualifications

Must be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander to fulfil an identified role under NSW law.
Proven ability to coordinate multiple events and priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication across diverse stakeholders.
Experience with Microsoft Office and event management/registration systems.
Experience with social media, digital communications, or storytelling.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and deliver a range of university events for First Nations students, staff and partners.
Support First Nations communications activities and share stories about programs and achievements.
Ensure events and communications are culturally respectful, community-informed and aligned with CSU values.
Travel regularly and be available for after-hours/weekend work as required.
