Job summary

John Pearson Consulting Group is seeking an AOD Client Case Worker to provide culturally safe, strengths-based support to First Nations participants aged 15 and over across Bundaberg and surrounding communities.

You will build trusted relationships, assess needs, and connect clients with health, housing and recovery services while maintaining accurate records and reporting. The role is full-time, fixed-term until end of June 2027 with extension potential.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with First Nations peoples using culturally safe, strengths-based approaches.
  • Experience in case management, service navigation, outreach or community services.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Current Driver Licence.
  • Blue Card and National Police Check, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Build trusted relationships with participants, families, Elders and community stakeholders.
  • Conduct assessments and develop individual support plans.
  • Provide advocacy, referrals and service navigation.
  • Support participants to access health, housing, community and recovery services.
  • Monitor progress and adapt support to changing needs.
  • Develop local referral networks and community partnerships.
  • Undertake outreach and participant engagement activities.
  • Maintain accurate records, case notes and reporting requirements.
