Job summary

Indigenous Wellbeing Centre in Queensland seeks an AOD Clinician to support First Nations clients with substance use disorders, develop recovery and harm minimisation strategies, and facilitate client-driven behaviour change across community, home, and office settings.

The role involves counselling individuals, couples or families, conducting comprehensive assessments, and working with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care and community education.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Cert IV in relevant AOD/mental health, with minimum 2 years' experience.
• Demonstrated ability to assess client needs and develop treatment plans.
• Ability to work with First Nations clients and families in a holistic recovery approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family counselling for substance-related issues.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of client needs and risk factors.
• Manage a caseload, coordinate services, and advocate for client needs.
• Collaborate with medical staff, social workers and community programs to deliver care.
