Job summary

University of Sydney is seeking a First Nations Administration Officer to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, students, initiatives and partnerships within the School of Architecture, Design and Planning. The role emphasizes cultural safety, inclusion and meaningful engagement across programs and community events.

You will work under the School General Manager and with the Associate Dean, Indigenous Strategy and Services to strengthen First Nations participation and perspectives

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to resolve issues and use good judgement.
• Ability to prioritise workload during busy periods.
• Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous engagement and inclusion outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality administrative and operational support for First Nations staff, programs, and initiatives.
• Coordinate meetings, yarning circles, diary management, agendas, minutes, bookings, catering and tech needs.
• Support planning and delivery of community visits, events, conferences and engagement activities.
• Investigate and resolve administrative matters and support project implementation.
• Maintain financial and administrative records and prepare reports for decision-making.
• Build relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, students, communities and partners.
