Job summary

Cubic Bins Pty Ltd in Pakenham, VIC is seeking a Welder (First Class) to join its metal fabrication workshop. You will read engineering drawings, determine material needs and perform high-quality welds on steel and aluminium to build truck bodies.

Working in a small, hands-on team, you will set up and weld components using MIG, TIG and MMA processes, inspect welds, and help plan workloads to meet production deadlines while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of welding or fabrication experience.
• Proficiency in MIG, TIG and MMA welding on steel and aluminium.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings to determine material requirements and weld sequence.
• Weld components using MIG, TIG and MMA processes.
• Fabricate chassis rails, frames and fittings into completed truck bodies.
• Inspect welds for quality, repair defects as needed.
• Maintain welding equipment and keep the workshop clean and safe.
• Plan workloads with the team to meet production deadlines.
