Burnie Plumbing Supplies in Burnie, Tasmania is seeking an experienced Welder (First Class) to join their team. The role involves fabricating, joining and repairing metal components using MIG, TIG and arc welding in a busy workshop.

This is a full-time position offering an annual salary of AU$80,000–AU$85,000 plus superannuation, with an emphasis on precision workmanship, safety compliance, and reading technical drawings. Based on site in Burnie with collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Welder (First Class) or in metal fabrication.
• Experience with MIG, TIG and arc welding across structural steel and fabricated components.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, fabrication plans and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Select and prepare welding equipment, consumables and materials for welding operations.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, welding procedures and specs to determine requirements.
• Set up and operate MIG welding equipment to weld, join and repair components.
