Job summary

Downer Group is seeking a Fire Technician for Wheatstone, WA. You’ll maintain fire protection and electrical systems across village and plant areas, with a 2:2 FIFO lifestyle roster and 12-hour days.

The role requires WA A Grade Electrical Licence, Certificate II in Fire Protection, CPR/LVR/First Aid, and a valid WA Driver’s Licence. Join an inclusive energy and utilities team delivering critical assets.

Qualifications

• WA A Grade Electrical Licence required.
• Certificate II – Fire Protection, Inspection, and Testing required or in progress.
• Current CPR, LVR and First Aid certifications are mandatory.
• WA Driver’s Licence is essential.
• White Card / Construction Induction is mandatory.
• High-Risk Work Licence - EWP is required for certain tasks.
• Working at Heights training completed within last 2 years.
• MSIC and EAHL are desirable but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fire detection and protection systems across facilities.
• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical systems.
• Inspect, test, fault-find, diagnose and repair lighting circuits, switchboards and controls.
• Work across accommodation and plant areas with FIFO roster.

The Opportunity:

Downer is seeking applications from Fire Technicians to join our team at Wheatstone, WA . In this role, you will be working across the village, permanent buildings, and onsite offices to keep both fire protection and general electrical systems running smoothly. The work will consist of preventative and reactive maintenance of fire detection and protection systems, lighting circuits, switchboards, and control systems across both accommodation and plant areas. This will include inspection and testing, fault finding, diagnosis, and repair.

• WA A Grade Electrical Licence
• Certificate II – Fire Protection, Inspection, and Testing
• Current CPR, LVR, & 1 st Aid
• WA Driver’s Licence
• White Card / Construction Induction
• High-Risk Work Licence - EWP
