Flaming North Fire Protection is seeking a Portable Fire Technician to inspect and service portable fire equipment across Far North Queensland. The role involves accurate reporting, and liaising with customers to ensure safety and compliance.
Ideal candidates will have prior experience with fire protection systems, relevant Australian Standards, and QBCC licences where required. A supportive team offers ongoing training and professional development in a growing business.
Portable Fire Technician position with Flaming North Fire Protection, a family-owned and operated business providing scheduled servicing and asset management across all areas of fire protection. This position is an integral part of operations and offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive and growing company.
Inspecting, testing and servicing portable fire equipment, including fire extinguishers and fire blankets, in accordance with applicable Australian Standards
Inspecting and servicing smoke alarms and emergency and exit lighting systems
Inspecting fire doors and other passive fire protection elements, where appropriately qualified and licensed
Identifying defects and gathering accurate information while onsite to support quotations for repairs and rectification works
Completing fire safety audits of customer premises and recommending appropriate fire protection equipment and solutions
Identifying, servicing and repairing fire protection and safety equipment
Accurately recording and providing evidence of all maintenance and servicing performed
Completing electronic service reports, defect reports and other required documentation
Maintaining the company vehicle, tools and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition
Communicating with clients, management and other team members to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
Previous experience inspecting and servicing portable fire equipment
Experience with fire doors and passive fire protection elements is highly regarded
Certificate II or Certificate III in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing is desirable
Current and relevant QBCC occupational licences, where required
Sound knowledge of AS 1851 and other applicable Australian Standards
Knowledge of AS 2118 and wet fire systems would be advantageous
The ability to identify defects and understand the applicable rectification requirements
Strong attention to detail and the ability to complete accurate service documentation
