Job summary

Fire Services Queensland (FSQ) is seeking an experienced Portables Fire Technician to inspect, test, and service portable fire equipment across client sites in Queensland. You will ensure compliance with Australian Standards 1851:2012, diagnose faults, and perform repairs while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

  • QBCC Licence and relevant industry licences are required.
  • Strong product knowledge of portable fire equipment is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a similar fire protection role is highly regarded.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship are essential.
  • Ability to work independently with good time management.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic are expected.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills are important.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Portables Fire Technician to join our growing Service & Maintenance team in Brisbane. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the inspection, testing, servicing, and maintenance of portable fire equipment in accordance with Australian Standards 1851:2012. This position plays a key role in ensuring our clients’ fire safety equipment remains compliant, operational, and maintained to the highest standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

Inspecting and testing portable fire equipment in accordance with Australian Standards 1851:2012

Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs and replacements where required

Completing routine servicing and maintenance of portable fire equipment

Accurately completingservice reports and compliance documentation

Providing exceptional customer service and technical support to clients

Working independently across various client sites throughout Queensland

Maintaining high standards ofsafety, workmanship, and professionalism on site

Your Skills, Experience & Attributes

QBCC Licence and relevant industry licences

Strongproduct knowledge within portable fire equipment

Previousexperience within a similar fire protection role highly regarded

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively

Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Additional industry licences or related experience (desirable)
