Qualifications

• Relevant trade certificate/diploma/bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in fire protection, electronics, mechatronics, or electrical engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and circuit schematics.
• Organise and prioritise work activities with limited supervision.
• Deliver work to deadlines while maintaining quality and professionalism.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access).
• Demonstrated ability to prepare clear, accurate, well-structured technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory testing of fire system products including smoke sensitivity, climatic, corrosion, sound pressure and other physical tests.
• Set up, operate and maintain laboratory test equipment and instrumentation.
• Witness and document fire tests for various products with accurate observations and results.
• Assist with implementation and ongoing use of CSIRO's Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Prepare and contribute to technical reports, ensuring data and observations are recorded.
