Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Associate Fire Protection Engineer to join the ANZ team in Melbourne. You will lead fire protection design for data centres and mission-critical facilities, interfacing with clients and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.

You will guide design, reviews and assurance activities, develop client relationships, and contribute to business growth across Australia and the broader region, with flexible hybrid working options.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant experience delivering fire protection solutions in consulting.
• Strong technical capability across fire protection systems and project delivery.
• Experience on complex building projects, data centres or mission-critical facilities.
• Experience leading design, review and assurance on major projects.
• Strong understanding of Australian standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead fire protection design and consultancy for complex projects.
• Act as Fire Protection Lead on major projects with technical oversight.
• Perform design reviews and assurance activities for quality outcomes.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including GID collaborators.
• Engage with clients, contractors and authorities throughout project delivery.
• Support approvals, compliance, and project sign-off activities.
