Job summary

Ventia in Victoria seeks a Fire Capability Manager to oversee two sites, delivering firefighting, rescue and emergency response services for Defence contracts. You will lead planning, deployment of personnel and equipment, and stakeholder engagement to ensure robust capability and safe operations.

You will bring strong leadership, safety focus and experience managing large, dispersed teams, with a track record in high-risk environments and building partnerships with Defence and industry partners.

Qualifications

• Experience in emergency management in a dynamic, high-risk environment.
• Graduate or Postgraduate qualification in Business Management.
• Background in complex service delivery with a large workforce.
• Eligible to obtain Defence Security Clearance; Australian Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Ensure station teams maintain high operational preparedness for emergencies.
• Allocate resources (personnel, fleet, equipment, training) to meet objectives.
• Foster an inclusive environment with strong employee engagement.
• Build relationships with Defence personnel, SEG Leadership and partners.
• Lead safety, health, environment outcomes and compliance.
