Job summary

Wormald is seeking Fire Alarm Technicians / Electricians for field roles across Central Queensland, including Rockhampton and Gladstone. Install, test, maintain and fault-find fire detection and protection systems in surface and underground infrastructure.

You will liaise with clients and ensure safe, compliant operations on site. Applicants should have fire industry experience, QBCC licensing or the ability to obtain it, a current driver's licence, and strong customer service and communication

Responsibilities

• Installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding on fire detection and fire protection systems.
• Interface testing between fire systems and other site systems (PLC, BMS, shutdown systems).
• Maintain Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) responsibilities, ensuring compliance with policies.
• Ensure work aligns with contractual requirements and standards.
• Complete service activities to guarantee timely completion of tasks.
• Maintain communication with client representatives and stakeholders for satisfaction.
• Identify and resolve site issues with actionable improvements.
• Maintenance and repair of portable fire protection equipment to Australian Standards.
• Routine testing in accordance with Australian Standards to fire protection equipment.
• Liaise with customers and build professional relationships.

Fire Alarm Technicians / Electricians

work in the field undertaking installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding on fire detection and fire protection systems. You'll be out in the field, thinking on your feet, and building compliant fire safety systems that save lives, looking after the client base in the Central Queensland Region (Rockhampton & Gladstone roles available).

Key responsibilities

• Installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding on fire detection and fire protection systems across surface and underground infrastructure including fire alarm detection systems, gas suppression systems and emergency warning systems
• Interface testing between fire systems and other site systems (PLC, BMS, shutdown systems)
• Maintain Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) responsibilities, ensuring full compliance with company/site policies and procedures
• Ensure that all work aligns with contractual requirements and industry standards and is serviced to the highest standards
• Complete service activities to guarantee timely and efficient completion of tasks
• Maintain effective communication with client representatives and stakeholders to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
• Proactively identify and resolve site issues, implementing solutions and improvements to enhance overall operations
• Maintenance and repair of portable fire protection equipment to Australian Standards
• Routine testing in accordance with Australian Standards to fire protection equipment
• Liaising with customers, establishing professional and friendly relationships
