Job summary

ASX Group is seeking an Environment Release Manager to lead end-to-end software release programs across multiple environments, including on-prem and cloud workloads. You will drive governance, planning, and execution for CHESS project releases, collaborating with Architecture, Information Security, Finance and QE&T teams.

The role emphasizes strong stakeholder engagement, metrics-driven governance, and a continuous improvement mindset in a hybrid work setting across Australia.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in planning, scheduling, testing, deploying, maintaining and controlling software releases across environments.
• Experience leading others while coordinating Environment and Release Management activities within CHESS.
• Knowledge of release management principles, methodologies and tools.
• Experience across on-prem and cloud (AWS) environments.
• Familiar with SDLC and CI/CD concepts.
• Experience with version control, branching strategies and dependency management.
• Ability to define KPIs, metrics and SLAs for releases.

Responsibilities

• Communicate the scope and purpose of releases, environment refreshes, release schedules, release status, and escalation of issues and risks.
• Plan and facilitate release and patching activities across development and testing, ensuring quality and timely deployments across all environments.
• Assist in managing interdependencies to ensure milestone adherence and release integrity.
• Maintain environment consistency for all components across the full environment lifecycle.
• Provide environment support across internal and external test environments including war room coordination.
• Conduct PIRs post release to identify and address quality issues.
• Define and manage change control processes for release readiness criteria and artefacts.
• Drive continuous improvement in release and environment management processes.
• Coordinate packaging across the CHESS project.
• Communicate with vendors and internal delivery teams for packaging of releases.
