Job summary

Bridgit is hiring a Collections Officer in Australia to manage a loan portfolio, guide customers through arrears and hardship, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. The role focuses on proactive servicing, early issue identification, and delivering exceptional customer support.

You will work under the Collections Manager, maintain relationships with customers and brokers, and help Bridgit manage risk while supporting customers through changing circumstances.

Qualifications

• Experience in collections, loan servicing, hardship or customer care within fintechs or lenders.
• Empathetic, firm, and able to negotiate while maintaining trust.
• Genuine desire to help customers and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Manage a loan portfolio across its lifecycle and maintain good relationships with customers and brokers.
• Oversee milestones like maturities, rate resets, and review dates to pre-empt issues.
• Assess extension, variation, and restructure requests per policy.
• Provide warm, clear service across calls and written communications.
• Handle delinquent accounts end-to-end and arrange realistic repayment plans.
• Identify signs of distress and assess hardship applications per policy and law.
• Maintain compliance with the National Credit Code and internal policies.
• Identify potential complaints and refer to Internal Dispute Resolution when needed.
• Deliver accurate arrears reporting for executive oversight.
