Job summary

Group 10 Consulting seeks a FinOps/Cloud Cost Management professional to help clients transform cloud cost governance and maximise investment value. The role focuses on implementing cost governance, driving organisational change, and guiding projects to adopt cost-efficient cloud solutions.

Background in cloud technology, finance or operations is welcome. You will engage with client stakeholders, analyse cost data, manage invoices and reports, and contribute to initiatives that raise our profile

Qualifications

• Understanding of the FinOps Framework and Principles.
• Knowledge of Azure and AWS foundational architectures.
• Experience with Azure and/or AWS cost management and reporting platforms such as Azure Cost Management, Azure Advisor, AWS Cost Explorer.
• Basic understanding of optimisation opportunities using on-premise entitlements in cloud (e.g., Azure Hybrid Benefit, BYOSL).
• Good customer engagement skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and colleagues.
• Experience developing reports, analysing data, and developing recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Forecast cloud workload costs by analysing technical designs.
• Monitor consumption data within cloud tools to understand and manage costs.
• Establish cloud native processes for FinOps capabilities like workload onboarding, cost attribution and visibility.

• Report financial and business benefits of these activities.
• Contribute to initiatives that grow the company profile in this field.

OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking people with experience in FinOps / Cloud Cost Management to assist our clients to transform their ways of working and maximise the business value of their cloud investment. This important role is responsible for implementing/managing public cloud cost governance, driving organisational change and guiding new projects to adopt cloud offerings in a cost-efficient manner. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Engaging with client stakeholders and project areas to advise on cloud cost governance including cost optimisation best practices, cost estimation and cost management

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS

This role requires Australian Citizenship and ideally a Federal Government Security Clearance. Preference may be given to applicants with an active clearance.
