Job summary

MARS Building is seeking an experienced Finishes Supervisor to lead the finishes phase of a prominent Class 2 multi-residential development in Newcastle.

You will work closely with the Site Manager and Project Manager to coordinate subcontractors, manage programme requirements and ensure finishes comply with approved design documentation, specifications and scopes of work.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a Finishes Supervisor, Foreperson or Senior Leading Hand.
• Experience delivering Class 2 apartment or multi-residential projects.
• Strong knowledge of internal finishes, external finishes and construction sequencing.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and trade scopes.
• Excellent planning, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on site supervision and ability to manage trades.

Responsibilities

• Supervise internal and external finishing trades across the project.
• Plan, sequence and coordinate finishing works in line with the construction programme.
• Manage subcontractor performance, labour resources, materials and deliveries.
• Review declared design drawings, specifications and trade scopes before works commence.
• Coordinate design, programme, quality and technical requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections and identify incomplete, defective or non-conforming work.
• Drive prompt rectification and close-out of defects.
• Maintain strong quality assurance records throughout the finishes phase.
• Support timely close-out of QA observations, corrective actions and non-conformance reports.
• Promote and enforce high standards of WHS across all finishing activities.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
• Assist with inspections, commissioning, handover and final completion.
• Provide clear progress updates to the Site Manager and project team.

MARS Building is seeking an experienced Finishes Supervisor to join our project delivery team on a prominent Class 2 multi-residential development in Newcastle.

This is an excellent opportunity for a capable and driven construction professional to take ownership of the finishes phase of a major apartment project and help deliver a high-quality outcome. You will work closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager and broader project team to coordinate subcontractors, manage programme requirements and ensure all finishing works comply with the approved design documentation, specifications and agreed scopes of work.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising internal and external finishing trades across the project

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Experience delivering Class 2 apartment or multi-residential projects
• Strong knowledge of internal finishes, external finishes and construction sequencing
• A thorough understanding of quality assurance and defect management
• The ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and trade scopes
• Strong planning, coordination and problem-solving skills
• A practical, hands-on approach to site supervision
• The ability to build productive relationships with trades, consultants and the project team
• High personal standards for workmanship, presentation and attention to detail
• Confidence using construction management, site safety and defect management software
• A current White Card
• A current Australian driver licence
• Full Australian working rights
