Job summary

La Vie Hospitality Group is seeking a Financial Controller to partner with our Australian hotels and work with the Group Director of Finance. You’ll own the month-end close, forecasts and commentary for the hotel portfolio while driving profitability and robust controls.

Based in Sydney, you’ll collaborate with hotel leadership, ensure compliant financial processes, and contribute to system improvements as La Vie expands its portfolio of properties.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified (or close to finishing).
• 3+ years in hospitality finance, ideally hotel or cluster level.
• Strong organisation skills with multiple deadlines.
• A sharp eye for detail and ability to explain numbers clearly.
• Confident building relationships with hotel teams.
• Bonus points for Sage Intacct or Opera PMS experience.

Responsibilities

• Managing month-end close, financial reporting and balance sheet reconciliations across the hotel portfolio.
• Preparing monthly forecasts, annual budgets and business plans.
• Reviewing hotel performance, identifying variances and providing commentary to General Managers.
• Partnering with hotel leadership to improve profitability and payroll productivity.
• Working with Accounts Payable/Receivable and Payroll for accurate processes.
• Managing compliance including GST, BAS, PAYG, Capex and internal controls.
• Monitoring cash flow, working capital and hotel financial performance.
• Ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting aligned with owners’ requirements.
• Supporting the Group Director of Finance with portfolio reporting and strategic projects.
• Identifying opportunities to improve systems and reporting as the business grows.

What you'll do:

• Identifying opportunities to improve systems, reporting and finance processes as the business continues to grow.

What you'll bring:

• CA or CPA qualified (or close to finishing)
• 3+ years in hospitality finance, ideally at hotel or cluster level
• Strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise across multiple deadlines
• A sharp eye for detail and a knack for explaining numbers in plain English
• Confidence working with hotel teams and building great relationships
• Bonus points for Sage Intacct or Opera PMS experience
