Job summary

You will lead a high-performing finance team, drive statutory compliance, internal controls, and automation while ensuring accurate global financial reporting for the group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• CA or CPA qualification is mandatory.
• 8+ years of progressive experience, ideally beginning in a Big 4 firm with senior reporting or controllership roles.
• Deep knowledge of IFRS/AASB standards and international accounting treatments.
• Experience with high-volume transactional businesses, escrow accounting, or multi-currency platforms is highly regarded.
• Experience with ERP systems, implementations or financial automation tools is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead global financial reporting, month-end, half-year, and year-end closing processes with consolidation across multiple subsidiaries.
• Prepare high-quality statutory financial statements under IFRS/AASB and ensure timely regulatory filings.
• Own the global audit process and manage external auditors within a robust internal control environment.
• Manage global tax compliance including GST/VAT, corporate income tax, and R&D incentives across jurisdictions.
• Drive automation of financial systems and workflows to improve efficiency.
• Oversee cash flow, intercompany settlements, and FX risk in a high-volume environment.

Role Overview

Reporting to the ChiefFinancialOfficer, theFinancialControllerwill be responsible for the integrity of the Group'sfinancialreporting, global internal controls, and statutory compliance. You will lead a high-performingfinanceteam, ensuring that our global operations - spanning multiple jurisdictions and products - run with precision and efficiency. You are a "hands-on" leader who balances technical accounting excellence, team development, and a drive for process automation.

Key Responsibilities

• GlobalFinancialReporting:Lead the month-end, half-year, and year-end closing processes. Ensure accurate consolidation of multi-currency subsidiaries across the Group (Freelancer, Escrow, and Loadshift).
• ASX & Statutory Compliance:Prepare high-quality statutoryfinancialstatements in accordance with IFRS/AASB. Ensure timely delivery of all regulatory filings.
• Internal Controls & Audit:Own the global audit process. Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and maintain a robust internal control environment to mitigate risk across our fintech and marketplace platforms.
• Tax Management:Manage global tax compliance, including GST/VAT, corporate income tax, and R&D tax incentive claims across international jurisdictions.
• Operational Excellence:Constantly refine and automatefinancialsystems and workflows.
• Cash Management & Treasury:Oversee global cash flow, intercompany settlements, and FX risk management in a high-volume transactional environment.

Requirements

• Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting orFinance.CA or CPA qualification is mandatory.
• Experience:8+ years of progressive experience, ideally beginning in a Big 4 firm followed by a senior reporting or controllership role within anASX-listedor high-growth tech environment.
• Technical Expertise:Deep knowledge of IFRS/AASB standards. Demonstrated experience in complex consolidations and international accounting treatments.
• Fintech/Marketplace Savvy:Experience with high-volume transactional businesses, escrow accounting, or multi-currency platforms is highly regarded.
• Systems Driven:Experience with ERP systems, implementations orfinancialautomation tools is a highly regarded.
• Leadership:Proven ability to manage and mentor a global team, holding them to a high standard of output and professional development.
