Job summary

Wilson Select is recruiting a Financial Controller for a Sydney CBD-based renewable energy and infrastructure group. You will take day-to-day ownership of financial control and reporting directly to the CFO, shaping budgeting, forecasting and quarterly reporting.

Based in Sydney CBD with 3 days a week in the office, the role leads a small team and builds the finance function with dashboards, faster consolidation, and improved processes, partnering with budget holders across the business to lift

Qualifications

• Hands-on, end-to-end financial control experience, including group consolidation.
• Lender or covenant reporting experience from infrastructure, real estate, renewables, financial services or mining.
• Comfortable with small/medium-sized businesses and minimal supervision.

Financial Controller | Renewable Energy & Infrastructure | Sydney CBD

Own the numbers for a growing Australian renewable energy business, and build the reporting the team will rely on.

The business

A Sydney-based renewable energy group spanning solar, battery storage and pumped hydro. It's backed by a listed, A-rated global parent, has a strong project pipeline, and about 30 people in a close, collaborative team.

The role

You will take day-to-day ownership of financial control, reporting directly to the CFO

• Own budgeting, forecasting and quarterly reporting
• Run group consolidation, reported to an offshore head office
• Manage bank and lender reporting, including covenants
• Lead a small team (a Financial Accountant and Accounts Payable)
• Build the finance function, including dashboard reporting, a faster consolidation model and better processes
• Partner with budget holders across the business and lift their financial confidence

About you

• Hands-on, end-to-end financial control experience, including group consolidation
• Lender or covenant reporting experience, ideally from infrastructure, real estate, renewables, financial services or mining
• Used to small and mid-sized businesses, comfortable without heavy supervision
• Meticulous, technically sharp, and a clear communicator at every level
• A builder who sees gaps as opportunities, with ideas on automation and AI in finance
