Sirius. in Sydney seeks an experienced Finance Manager – Financial Reporting to own the Group's statutory reporting, technical accounting agenda, and external audit relationships.

You will lead a small team and build a scalable, best-in-class reporting function aligned with IFRS and AASB standards. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will oversee half-year and year-end reporting, manage external audits, and drive accuracy, controls and compliance across renewable energy projects.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years in external reporting, technical accounting, or audit.
• CA/CPA qualified with IFRS and AASB knowledge.
• Experience leading external audits end-to-end.
• Strong technical writing for board-level audiences.
• Leadership experience and ability to develop finance professionals.
• Australian driver’s license (preferred).

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a role with genuine senior exposure. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will own the Group's financial reporting and technical accounting agenda. You will lead the statutory reporting and own the external audit relationship. In addition, you will also lead and develop a small team and assist in building a best in class reporting function that is scalable, efficient and operating effectively.

DUTIES

• Own half-year and full-year statutory financial statements under IFRS and AASB
• Prepare board and Audit & Risk Committee papers on key judgements and reporting outcomes
• Act as the Group's technical expert on revenue, leases, financial instruments and business combinations
• Prepare & review technical position papers and advise on major transactions before execution
• Own the external audit end to end, resolving complex matters with the auditors
• Maintain the Group accounting policy framework and strengthen reporting controls

KEY SKILLS

• 8–10+ years in external reporting, technical accounting or audit, including Big 4 or mid-tier experience
• CA/CPA qualified, with deep, current knowledge of IFRS, AASB
• Ownership of the full statutory reporting cycle for a listed or complex multi-entity group
• Proven experience managing external audits end to end
• Strong technical writing for senior and board‑level audiences
• Experience leading and developing finance professionals

Key Responsibilities

• Actively oversee the half-year and year-end reporting process to meet external and internal financial reporting requirements while driving excellence and accuracy.
• Direct the review of detailed external reporting packs provided in half-year and year-end reporting.
• Manage the preparation of monthly financial statements, reports, and analysis, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee budgeting and forecasting reporting processes, providing insights and recommendations for strategic planning and operational efficiency.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project financial performance and reporting requirements.

About You

You will have a strong accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for renewable energy.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
• CA/CPA qualified.
• Experience with financial software and ERP systems, along with advanced Excel skills for data analysis.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting complex financial information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Proven leadership and team management skills, with a focus on developing talent and fostering collaboration.
• A current Australian driver’s licence.
