Job summary

OEMX Diesel, a fast-moving, family-owned business in Perth, is seeking a commercially minded Financial Controller to join the leadership team. You will bring structure, accuracy and insight to budgeting, forecasting, and performance improvement across our operations.

Working with management, you’ll strengthen controls, oversee Xero and reporting, support pricing and capex decisions, and drive system implementations while upholding our values of accountability and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning across the business
• Maintain strong financial control over Xero, reporting structures, reconciliations, tracking categories and finance system accuracy
• Strengthen internal controls, including purchase order discipline, approval workflows, delegation limits, audit trails and month-end procedures
• Support job costing, WIP review, margin control, invoice timing, completed-job reviews and under-recovery analysis
• Strengthen compliance obligations, including BAS, GST, payroll tax, workers compensation declarations, insurance support, ASIC/ATO deadlines and external accountant coordination
• Provide commercial support for pricing, margin analysis and capex decisions
• Drive system implementations and optimisation

This role is ideal for someone who wants to be more than a numbers person. The Financial Controller will bring structure, accuracy, and insight while working closely with management to improve performance across the business.

Key responsibilities

Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning across the business
