The Perigon Group is a hands-on Financial Controller role in Sydney, Australia, reporting to the CFO and leading a lean finance team. The position strengthens governance, improves systems and builds scalable processes to support growth and transformation.

You will manage month-end close, financial reporting, controls, and the external audit while driving automation and efficiency across finance functions as the business expands.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the month end and year end close processes.
  • Produce accurate and timely financial statements and management reporting.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, reconciliations and supporting documentation.
  • Manage the annual external audit and act as the key contact for external auditors.
  • Ensure statutory, tax and regulatory obligations are met.
  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, cash management and bank reconciliations.
  • Lead, develop and coach a finance team of approximately six.
  • Establish efficient, scalable and well-documented finance processes.
  • Improve month-end timelines and minimise audit adjustments.
  • Enhance automation and reduce reliance on manual processes.
  • Improve finance systems, controls and data quality.
  • Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks across the finance function.
  • Support general ledger, reporting system and broader technology upgrades.
  • Partner closely with the CFO, CEO and senior leadership team.
  • Support outsourced and offshore finance arrangements where appropriate.
  • Contribute to broader business improvement initiatives.
  • Build the financial infrastructure required to support continued growth period of transformation and increased workload.

Australian owned, PE backed services business who are going through a growth phase to enable more reach within their customer base.

The role

The opportunity is within a high-growth, PE-backed Australian business entering its next phase of expansion, with a focus on strengthening financial governance, improving systems and building scalable processes.

Reporting to the CFO, the role leads a lean finance team (x4 DR's) and requires a hands on Financial Controller comfortable operating across reporting, audit, compliance, financial operations and process improvement.
