Job summary

ROH Wheels Australia is seeking a qualified accountant to step up to Financial Controller, reporting to the Group CFO. You will own day-to-day finance across Australia and support the Philippines subsidiary, bringing ownership and breadth beyond a narrow role.

Qualifications

• CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• 5+ years' post-qualification experience in commerce, Big 4 or mid-tier firm, or PE-backed business.
• Demonstrated inventory accounting and standard costing in manufacturing or distribution.
• Strong month-end, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting ability.
• Experience with Priority ERP is highly regarded.
• Multi-entity, multi-currency exposure and analytics skills (Power BI) are a plus.

Job description

An opportunity exists for a qualified accountant to step up into a Financial Controller role as second-in-charge to the Group CFO of a privately held South Australian group.

The group comprises two main operating businesses — automotive product distribution and agricultural equipment manufacturing — alongside diversified property and investment interests. It is in a significant phase of growth and transformation, and the finance function is being built to support it.

About the role

Reporting directly to the Group CFO, you will take day-to-day ownership of the finance function, covering reporting, costing, budgeting and controls for the Australian business and supporting its Philippines subsidiary. You will work alongside the Group CFO on the broader group agenda, with genuine scope to be involved across other group entities as your capability and interest allow. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who wants ownership and variety rather than a narrow position in a large finance team, and who is looking for their step up into a senior commercial finance role.

Key responsibilities

Own the month-end close and deliver accurate, timely management and statutory reporting.

Lead inventory accounting and standard costing, including BOM and overhead rate setting, variance analysis, stock valuation and landed cost.

Oversee preparation of the annual budget and rolling forecasts, and maintain the break-even, margin and scenario models relied on by the management.

Partner with commercial and operational leaders on pricing, product margin and cost‑out initiatives.

Play the lead finance role in ERP optimisation, including reporting build‑out, workflow design and system upgrade projects.

Drive process improvement and automation to reduce manual effort, tighten controls and improve efficiency.

Coordinate audit deliverables and support statutory accounts, tax, treasury and board reporting alongside the Group CFO.

Supervise and develop the accounts and payroll team.

About you

CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.

5+ years' post-qualification experience gained in a Big 4 or mid-tier firm, in commerce, or in a private equity-backed business.

Demonstrated inventory accounting and standard costing experience in a manufacturing, importing or distribution environment.

Strong month-end, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting capability.

ERP optimisation and implementation experience — experience with Priority ERP will be highly regarded.

Demonstrated process improvement and automation experience.

Multi-entity, multi-currency or offshore subsidiary exposure, and Power BI or equivalent analytics skills, will be well regarded.
