Job summary

Talent Web Recruitment is partnering with a scaling business in Sydney to hire a Financial Accountant focused on process improvement. You will work with the Financial Controller, examining core finance processes from source transactions to audit evidence and implementing practical improvements.

Ideally you bring experience in financial accounting, month-end, reconciliations and strong analytical skills, with a hands-on approach and ability to operate in a changing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience across financial accounting, month-end, reconciliations and financial controls.
• Strong process-improvement, analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills.
• Ability to document processes and design scalable workflows.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing financial control processes from transaction initiation through to reporting and audit
• Identifying inefficiencies, duplicated effort, control gaps and opportunities for simplification
• Supporting journals, reconciliations, month-end reporting and other hands-on accounting activities
• Documenting existing processes and designing stronger, more scalable ways of working
• Partnering with finance stakeholders to implement improvements and embed lasting change
• Improving the quality, consistency and accessibility of reporting and audit evidence

The role

Working alongside the Financial Controller, you will examine how core finance processes currently operate, what they are intended to achieve and where they can be improved. You will follow processes end to end, from source transactions and journal entries through to balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting and audit evidence. Combining hands‑on accounting with process analysis, you will identify root causes, redesign workflows and help implement practical improvements.

About you

You will be a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys understanding how things work and finding better ways to deliver an outcome. You could be an Accountant, Finance Analyst or Finance Transformation professional looking to broaden your exposure within a growing business.

You will ideally bring:

• Experience across financial accounting, month‑end, reconciliations and financial controls
• Strong process‑improvement, analytical and root‑cause problem‑solving skills
• The ability to work through detailed accounting processes while maintaining an end‑to‑end view
