Job summary

Walkinshaw Automotive Group in Melbourne’s western suburbs is seeking a Financial Accountant to strengthen the finance function under the Finance Manager. The role focuses on financial accounting, reporting and analysis, with close collaboration to the operation.

You will handle month-end, intercompany reconciliations, budgeting support, fixed assets, and compliance, with opportunities to improve systems and processes.

Qualifications

• Strong financial accounting and month-end experience.
• Excellent reconciliation and analytical skills.
• Experience with budgeting and financial reporting.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence learning accounting systems.
• Attention to detail with a proactive approach.
• Ability to communicate with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• CA/CPA qualification, or progress towards qualification, highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Month-end reporting, journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting.
• Maintaining the fixed asset register.
• Assisting with management reporting and financial analysis.
• Supporting audit, statutory and compliance requirements.
• Providing accurate financial information to operational stakeholders.
• Identifying opportunities to improve and automate finance processes.
