Job summary

Australian Venue Co. in Melbourne seeks a Financial Accountant to bolster our Finance team. With 3–4 years’ experience in a Big 4 or mid‑tier audit firm or similar financial accounting role, you will support month-end reporting, lease accounting under AASB 16, and budgeting across multiple venues.

You will partner withFinance, Property, Leasing and Operations to ensure accurate data, timely reporting and strong controls, while contributing to process improvements.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of Big 4 or mid-tier audit or financial accounting experience.
• Bachelor's/Master's in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Experience with reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and budgeting.
• Experience with lease, property or operational data.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operational rent accounting and review lease data, postings, accruals and prepayments.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Support rent and related-party variance analysis across Finance, Property, Leasing and Operations.
• Prepare annual rent budgets and weekly turnover rent estimates.
• Support half-year and year-end financial reporting and statutory accounts.
• Coordinate information for external audits and reviews.
• Assist with AASB 16 lease calculations and statutory lease schedules.
• Support acquisition accounting calculations as required.
• Prepare capitalised rent entries for venues undergoing renovations.
• Assist with accounting-to-tax reconciliations and tax provisions.
• Apply Australian Accounting Standards and improve finance processes.
