Job summary

Walkinshaw Automotive Group is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to own the end-to-end financial accounting, month-end close, and statutory reporting at our Dandenong South facility near Melbourne. You will partner with Finance, FP&A, Commercial and Operations to deliver timely, accurate financial insights and drive continuous improvements in controls and processes.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, CPA/CA qualification or progress toward, and 5+ years of relevant

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business is required.
• CPA or CA qualification, or working towards, is strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant financial accounting experience in a complex environment.
• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards (AASB/IFRS).
• Experience with month-end and year-end close, reporting, reconciliations and statutory reporting.
• Experience in automotive, manufacturing or similar complex operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end monthly financial close and posting of journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Deliver accurate monthly financial reporting and management information with commentary.
• Maintain general ledger, chart of accounts and financial systems integrity.
• Coordinate year-end financial reporting and audit processes with internal and external auditors.
• Provide IFRS/AASB guidance on complex transactions and maintain internal controls.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Commercial, Operations and other stakeholders on budgets and forecasts.
• Oversee inventory and cost accounting, fixed assets and intercompany activities.
• Support group consolidation, intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.
