Job summary

Nice Rice/Honestly Riverina Pty Ltd in Jerilderie, NSW, is seeking a Finance Graduate for an initial three-month contract with a view to permanency. Based with the CFO, you will gain hands-on experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable and payments while supporting customer service.

You will develop your skills in a small, growth-focused rice business, with training and guidance, exposure to external accounting and operations, and potential permanent opportunities after the probation

Qualifications

• Recent graduate or near completion of Accounting, Finance or Commerce degree.
• Willing to learn and comfortable working with numbers across finance tasks.
• Able to assist across a range of finance tasks including AP/AR and payments.
• Experience not required but helpful; exposure to accounting software desirable.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and reconcile statements.
• Prepare customer invoices and receipts, allocate payments and credit notes.
• Process payments within approved procedures.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and month-end activities.
• Provide ad hoc customer/supplier support via phone and email.

Start your finance career with an Australian rice business rooted in the Riverina. Nice Rice is seeking a motivated Finance Graduate to gain practical experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable and payments, while supporting customer service as required.

About the role

Based in Jerilderie and reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, you will support our daily finance operations, helping maintain accurate records, process transactions on time and provide helpful service to customers and suppliers.

You will work with the CFO, our external accountant and operational teams, with training and guidance as you develop your skills.

This is an initial three-month fixed-term contract, with a view to permanent employment subject to satisfactory performance and ongoing business requirements.

What you will do

• Accounts payable: Process supplier invoices, reconcile statements, maintain supplier records and resolve enquiries.
• Accounts receivable: Prepare customer invoices and approved credit notes, allocate receipts, reconcile accounts and follow up overdue payments.
• Payments: Prepare payment runs, check supporting documentation and banking details, and process payments within approved procedures.
• Reconciliations and reporting: Assist with bank reconciliations, month-end activities, routine reporting and audit documentation.
• Customer service: Provide ad hoc telephone and email support, including responding to billing, payment and account enquiries.
• Finance administration: Maintain organised records, follow financial controls and contribute ideas to improve processes.

About you

You have recently completed, or are nearing completion of, a degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline. You are keen to learn, comfortable working with numbers and willing to help across a range of tasks.

You will bring:

• A basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
• Clear communication and a professional approach to customers and suppliers.
• The ability to meet deadlines, investigate discrepancies and ask for guidance when needed.
• A commitment to confidentiality, teamwork and learning.

Previous experience in finance, administration or customer service, including internships or placements, would be helpful. Exposure to accounting software is desirable but not essential.

Build practical experience across several core finance functions.
