Job summary

SunRice is seeking a Financial Accountant for a maternity leave contract in Sydney, Australia. You will support month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting and internal controls within the Finance team.

Key requirements include a degree in Accounting/Commerce/Finance, CPA/CA qualification or progress toward, 3–5 years of relevant experience, SAP and advanced Excel skills, and strong stakeholder communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Accounting, Commerce or Finance.
• CPA or CA qualified, or working towards qualification.
• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end processes.
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting.
• SAP experience is essential.
• Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, provisions and reclassifications.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate outstanding items.
• Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
• Analyse financial results and provide variance commentary.
• Support external and internal audit requirements.
• Monitor and maintain fixed asset accounting and project-related records.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and finance transformation initiatives.
