Job summary

Talent Web Recruitment is seeking a Financial Accountant for our client in Sydney CBD. The role reports to the Australian Financial Controller in a small team supporting the Australian business.

The position requires CPA qualification or study towards CPA, 2-3 years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to meet deadlines with a collaborative approach. Mandarin or Cantonese language skills are advantageous.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

An international financial services company is seeking an Accountant to join its Sydney finance team.

Reporting to the Australian Financial Controller, you’ll join a small team supporting the Australian business.

The duties include:

• Preparing month-end journals, reconciliations and financial reports.
• Managing the full accounts payable cycle, including invoices, expenses and payments.
• Preparing and lodging BAS accurately and on time.
• Completing bank and general ledger reconciliations.
• Supporting management reporting and budgeting.
• Providing documentation and explanations for annual audits, company tax returns and FBT.
• Working with other departments to resolve discrepancies and improve accounting processes.

You’ll be CPA qualified or currently studying towards your CPA, with at least two to three years’ relevant accounting experience including:

• Practical experience across month-end, accounts payable and BAS.
• Strong Excel skills and experience using accounting systems.
• Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• A willingness to learn and take ownership of your work.

Financial services experience is welcome, although candidates from other industries will also be considered. Mandarin or Cantonese language skills would be an advantage.
