Job summary

Metcash Limited is hiring a Financial Accountant to deliver financial integrity and commercial insights for NZ and national operations. Based at Macquarie Park with a hybrid model (3 days in office), the role demands analytical rigor and ownership to drive efficiencies and support better decision-making across the business.

The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years’ experience, a CPA/CA qualification, and strong Excel and Dynamics 365 capabilities to improve balance sheets and reporting.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Degree and CPA or CA qualified.
• Knowledge of MS Office applications (intermediate).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monthly accounting and analysis for NZ and National business including IBA.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and drive action on discrepancies.
• Identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements.
• Point of contact for half-year and full-year audit.
• Preparation of Group reporting requirements, including impairment assessment and accounting papers.
• Complete financial data surveys for NZ Entity.
• Guide and coach offshore team member.
• Build relationships with internal/external stakeholders across Finance, Commercial, Operations and Shared Services.
• Drive continuous improvement across financial accounting processes.
