Job summary

Torrens University Australia in Sydney is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our finance team. You will prepare month-end journals and reconciliations across cash, intercompany, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and other items, under the guidance of the Senior Financial Accountant.

This permanent role offers exposure beyond core accounting, supporting audits, external reporting, and process improvements within a strong internal control environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years relevant finance experience.
• Current CA or CPA designation is mandatory.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS accounting standards; US GAAP exposure is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with PeopleSoft.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely journal entries and reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly close deliverables.
• Support internal and external audit requirements.
• Assist with external financial reporting including financial statements.
• Identify process improvements and support automation.
• Collaborate with FP&A to analyse actuals and inform forecasts.
• Maintain internal controls in line with SOX requirements.
