Job summary

NSW Treasury is seeking a Financial Accountant to provide financial accounting, reporting and systems support. You will help maintain the fixed asset register, coordinate stocktakes, and assist with audits and policy improvements.

The role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, and advanced Excel skills. Flexible working options are available within the Treasury Finance group.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in financial accounting and reporting.
• Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and NSW Government policies.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyse financial information.
• Attention to detail with accuracy, compliance and continuous improvement.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial accounting, reporting and systems support for Treasury functions.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, coordinate stocktakes and reconcile balances.
• Support project capitalisation, settlements and audit processes.
• Contribute to improving financial policies, procedures and controls.
• Interpret financial information, investigate issues and advise stakeholders.
