Viva Energy Group in Melbourne is seeking a Financial Accountant to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the company's financial records and reporting. You will support monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, maintain the general ledger, and assist with budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and audit activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• CPA or CA qualified, or actively working towards qualification.
• Minimum 4 - 6 years' experience in financial accounting or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal controls.
• Experience preparing month-end reports, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Knowledge of Australian tax and compliance requirements.

Responsabilités

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals, prepayments, and other accounting entries.
• Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and reporting requirements.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances.
• Review financial transactions to ensure accurate classification and compliance with accounting standards.
