Job summary

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification with at least two years’ post‑qualification experience.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS.
• Sound knowledge of Australian tax requirements, including GST, FBT and income tax.
• Experience preparing management accounts, budgets, forecasts and annual financial statements in-house.
• Experience within Energy and/or Construction industries preferred but not essential.
• Confidence working with Xero, MYOB or other ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills and an interest in using data/AI tools to work smarter.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
• Clear written and verbal communication across the business.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines with confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Preparing monthly management accounts for Australian entities.
• Preparing Australian tax calculations and filings, including GST, FBT and income tax.
• Leading annual financial statement preparation and supporting external audits.
• Maintaining fixed asset registers, depreciation and asset capitalisation.
• Supporting project budgets, forecasts and reporting by aligning financial and project records.
• Preparing cash flow forecasts and ad hoc financial analysis.
• Supporting annual budgets and monthly/quarterly reforecasts.
• Managing day-to-day interactions with the ATO and external advisers.
• Strengthening internal controls and improving finance systems and data practices.
• Working with project cost controls to maintain accurate coding and accounting treatment.
